Honey has many health benefits and has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, long before modern day medicine was ever invented. Some types contain more healing properties than others. The differences are due to the floral nectar components that are utilized by the bees that produce the honey.
Out of all the different types found across the world, Manuka Honey from New Zealand has the most amount of healing properties. It has been used as a medicine in New Zealand for decades. It is becoming more popular in other countries recently because of the amazing results obtained by using it.
The honey is more effective in treating strep throat, stomach aches and cold and flu symptoms than any other medication sold over the counter in pharmacies. It even outperforms most prescription medication when used for conditions such as stomach ulcers, acid reflux disease and infected wounds. There have been many clinical studies done on the healing benefits of using Manuka Honey for medical purposes, most of which are documented and can be found on the Internet.
In addition to the health conditions mentioned above, it has also been used to successfully treat gastrointestinal disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, gum disease, urinary tract infections, MRSA Staph infections, sinus infections, eczema, ringworm, acne, boils, burns, surgical and chronic wounds and a wide range of other conditions and symptoms.
Unlike antibiotics which are notorious for causing an array of negative side effects, the honey has been found to cause none when used for medical purposes, like honey and cinnamon cures for weight loss. Antibiotics are indiscriminate killers and destroy all bacteria in the body, both good and bad. The body does need some good bacteria and when antibiotics destroy these necessary microbes, it has a tendency to throw the system off kilter. Because of this and many other reasons, people seeking a more natural solution to their health problems have been turning to this supplement as a viable treatment solution.

Here is a tip to keep those snack attacks under control:
If you are the meal creator in your family, then this is a area that can be difficult if you are trying to lose weight and watching your diet. Even if you are creating a healthy dinner for you and your family, a nibble here and a nibble there can add up big time for calories.
If you are anything like me, I will chop away at something and then mindlessly pop whatever it is I am chopping into my mouth. By the time I have dinner cooking, I have probably eaten a meal with all my picking and nibbling and taste testing.
I didn’t think I ate that much, but it is amazing how many calories you can ingest without really knowing it. If I was cutting up cheese, or slicing cheese, I would pop a slice in my mouth. This went on just from force of habit. Plus I would “taste test” everything I was cooking!
The rest of the day, I was pretty good with my diet and exercise, but come any meal preparation, especially making lunches at night, then it all went out the window.
So, I devised a simple trick that has helped, and once I got in the habit of doing this, it has worked well.
Brush your teeth, before you prepare dinner, or lunches or whatever meal you are working on, that can cool off your cravings. If that is not enough to put you off taste testing, then chew some sugarless gum. You are less likely to be doing any taste testing with gum in your mouth! That fresh minty taste will usually stop you nibbling on ingredients.
If you are truly hungry while making a meal, then pop a 100 calorie popcorn package in the microwave, and put it in a bowl just for you. Keep snacking on that while you are creating your meal. For me, the worst time was when I was preparing lunches at night for the next day. I would make a sandwich and want to nibble the ingredients! By either chewing gum, brushing my teeth, or snacking on my special snack, it stopped me from sabotaging my weight loss goals.
- The caucus will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008. It is scheduled to begin at 10 am. Check-in can begin as early as necessary to accommodate the participants. All results must be tallied and submitted to the State Party by 5 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2008. The earlier the results are reported, the better.
- Each Congressional District must have 1 caucus. There is no maximum number of caucuses that can be held.
- A registered Republican can vote at any 1 caucus in his/her Congressional District. It does not have to be in the county in which they reside.
- The State Party in coordination with county and district chairs will co or dinate publicity for the caucus. County parties are encouraged to do as much as they can to spread the word locally as well.
- Each Congressional District committee will elect 3 delegates and 3 alternate delegates. (The Congressional District committee is composed of those people elected by their county precinct people to serve at the district level.) The district level delegates and alternate delegates are required to vote for the winner of the overall total of their Congressional District caucus. This meeting will be held prior to March 31, 2008.
- The state committee will elect 24 at-large delegates and 24 at-large alternates during the summer meeting of 2008. Each Congressional District is required to have equal representation from the at-large selections.
- In order to be eligible to be a delegate or alternate delegate, a person must be a registered Republican and submit a self-nomination form to the state party. These forms will be available from the state party by December 1, 2007.
The 2008 National Convention Steering Committee has oversight of all these activities. This committee is composed of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the State Party, the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of each Congressional District, and one at-large member appointed by the State Party Chairman.
